Søren Braes, M.Sc (Eng).

Søren Braes is CEO of BASISPOINT A/S, the software company in the BASISPOINT group.

Søren Braes commands a M.Sc. in engineering with a profound expertise within statistical analysis and operational research. Soren Braes has headed several software-projects developing advanced financial applications and designing financial warehouses. Currently he heads a large software project, Debttelligence, targeted at reducing and optimizing the interest burden carried by EU finance ministries.

Søren Braes has worked together with numerous banks, pension funds, investment and insurance companies as a risk and portfolio optimization consultant, and has helped those institutions to analyse and restructure both their assets and liabilities in an optimal way. For more than a decade Søren Braes has been giving lectures on portfolio and risk management as well as security analysis and derivatives.

He has taught at a large number of courses throughout Europe and is in heavy demand due to his ability to explain complex and difficult matters in a detailed yet intuitive and “down-to-earth” way. Søren Braes is born in 1964, married and has two children.
